Balancing screen time with fun the Honk app empowers parents to manage their children's screen time effectively, fostering a healthy balance between digital engagement and real-world activities. Parents can set clear goals for their kids, establishing time limits on electronic devices. But Honk goes beyond just restrictions. It also encourages positive behavior! Kids can earn extra screen time by completing goals set by their parents, creating a system of reward and responsibility.

The app prioritizes user-friendliness. Parents benefit from a straightforward interface, making it easy to manage screen time limitations and goals. On the other hand, the kid's side of the app is designed to be playful and engaging. More than just screen time rewards, kids earn in-app coins that allow them to customize and dress up their very own digital goose mascot – adding a fun element to the experience.

The Honk app project was a fantastic collaborative effort with my four teammates. In the initial phase, after brainstorming app concepts, I took the lead in researching competitor apps. The research process involved surveys and in-depth analysis to understand the existing landscape. With the insights gathered, I crafted a comprehensive proposal outlining our unique value proposition and justifying our design direction.

Beyond research, I also played a crucial leadership role, ensuring the team stayed on track and communicated effectively. I actively sought feedback as my classmates tackled their individual tasks, like creating artwork and wireframes. We conducted surveys with classmates and explored online resources to gauge user reactions to our developing design. The positive reception from classmates – many expressing interest in using the app for their studies – further fueled our motivation.

The final stages saw me delve into Figma's capabilities. After the team finished the artwork, wireframes, and static mockups, my focus shifted to prototyping. This required a deep dive into Figma's functionalities to ensure a smooth and functional user experience within the tight project deadline. By adapting quickly and leveraging Figma's potential, I brought the app design to life with interactive elements. The culmination of the project involved a comprehensive presentation. This presentation included not only the finalized app but also a detailed explanation of our research and design journey, showcasing the collaborative spirit and dedication behind the Honk app.

In conclusion, this project demonstrates my ability to contribute effectively within a team environment. I conducted competitor research, formulated a data-driven proposal, and provided leadership to ensure smooth collaboration. Furthermore, my strong user-centric approach is evident in actively seeking feedback throughout the design process.

Finally, I utilized Figma's prototyping functionalities to create a fully interactive mock-up, showcasing my ability to translate design vision into a functional digital experience. This project highlights my skills in research, leadership, user experience analysis, and Figma proficiency, making me a valuable asset for any creative team.
